"The Department of Defense is repositioning from transactional purchases towards more supply chain management processes to support our customers. The 5340 concept capitalizes on the strengths of the Supply Chain Integrator and the Government to improve the supply chain processes while increasing both supply availability and parts reliability. The primary goal in this endeavor is to improve customer support at the user level, ensuring World Wide Military readiness in the process."
